Today I've been getting a few more bits done on the model and have almost finished construction. I also hit the only problem I've had with the kit. This was the etched stowage frame which sts on the rear of the vehicle. I heated up the part to make it more pliable during bending but the bloody thing just would not conform to the right shape. Strange as I've had no issues with the other etched parts I've used.
Anyway out came my calipers and some plastic strip and off I went and made one from plastic. It was very fiddly but very satisfying once built. A bit more work on the antenna mounts on the front of the body and the start of a frame to hold a .50 cal ammo can on the roof MG ring finished off the day nicely.
You're a marvel with that ol' plasticard, Pete!
ReplyDeleteI much prefer it to bloody photo etch any day!
