Panzer II resurrected!

I have managed to resurrect the panzer II and get that finished too. Our clubs impending show and theme of "the fall of France" spurred me on slightly! I finished it off with lots of oil streaking and fading plus filters and finally a spray with tamiya flat earth and buff for the dusty appearance. I also used a new Matt varnish on this model which is Winsor & Newton Galleria acrylic matt varnish. This is a superb varnish and I am so impressed with it. Thinned slightly with water it sprays beautifully and does not clog up the airbrush. I also found that it goes dead flat straight away.Give it a go I guarantee you will be impressed!

T34 Done

Well I finished the T34 the other day and am very pleased with the result. I used more oil fading as well as a few filters and finished off with pigments. Fruil tracks where added for that final touch.

T34 rev's up a gear

I have finally got the missing grill for the T34 so got some paint on over the weekend using vallejo model air 17 Russian green as a base I then sprayed a mix of tamiya XF13 and flat yellow over the model to break up the monotone colour. After a coat of Klear I then added some micro chipping using vallejo colours and a fine piece of sponge. The last couple of days have seen me using oils on the tank to streak and stain the finish further.

I am pleased with the effects so far, at the moment the overall effect is very stark but this will tone down after a matt coat.

Can't stop modelling!

Well I have had great fun finishing the Chinese ZLC 2000 and managed to finish it on Monday just in time for my club meeting on Tuesday. I used a light filter over the model then a darker pin wash around some areas. After a matt coat I got out the pigments and mixed several to the tone I wanted and then applied this to the model working it up the hull sides. Some carbon fibre antennas finished it off nicely!

Still busy!

I have been extremely busy again finishing off the latest batch of commission work. The trailers are italeri items and the field workshop items are also form this manufacturer. The Krupp is from tamiya and just falls together superb kit. I used my usual Marmite method to impart a chipped and faded desert colour scheme over a panzer grey base coat. The field workshop table and ladder where painted in oils to get a nice wood effect.

I have even managed to get something of my own done, hooray! This is a Hobby Boss kit in 1/35th of a People's liberation army ZLC2000.I picked it up at the Milton Keynes show and built it straight away. Super little kit which has some great detail on it. The last few days have seen me get some paint on it using gunze sangyo colours. I just love this colour scheme.

A very busy month.....

I managed to get the V1 finished without much drama. A smashing kit which I really enjoyed.

I also started and finished in about two weeks three FW 190's. This was quite a challenge as I was on a tight deadline but also immensity satisfying and fun to do. These where all commission jobs so all other projects where put on hold.

That's not the last of the commissions as I have some 1/35th trucks and trailers to finish off. I may get some of my own stuff done soon!
