Some work on the sherman today and the usual method of adding tamiya XF 15 flat flesh to the olive drab to add some paint fading to the model. Not too much but enough on this one to add a bit of variation.

Aussie Abrams Figures
Well after some fettling I've got the figures in poses I'm happy with and a test fit in the turret looks good. They now need a bit of putty work to blend everything together before painting. I've also been working on stowage so that can all get painted at the same time.

Finally Some Progress!
With the temperature now dropped to more comfortable levels I have finally got some paint on the Sherman. The initial OD being Gunze Aqueous H52 olive drab 1. this will get some fading next but first I need to decide on which colour scheme to paint. I do like the OD and desert yellow pattern but am not too sure that the lower hull and running gear would be yellow. Further research needs to be done.

Airfix alvis FV622 Stalwart Mk.2 Review
I've just received the much anticipated Airfix Stalwart and after a good look have done a quick review on on the kit. You will find it in the reviews section on the main blog page.

Sherman Primed & Base Idea
After a wash and leaving the model to dry overnight I've now given it a good coat of Mr surfacer finishing primer. As usual this stuff goes down silky smooth and really shows off the kit details. I've also been messing with a base and thought it might be a good idea to incorporate my Marder 1 which I built back in 2021 as an abandoned vehicle.
So far I like the composition and I think it will make for an interesting display. I've used some foam boards and thin veneer to make the sides of the base. I'll use some VMS smart mud to make up the groundwork later once I can add the running gear to the Sherman and decide on its position.

Sherman Stowage & Final Additions, Man Cave!
A very small amount of stowage has been added to the model. I may add a further tarp later but my plan was not to cover the model in stuff as I like the lines of the hull. A very old Alpine figure has also been found in the spares box. I'll strip it back and re paint I think. So the model is ready for a wash before primer.
Now for the final addition to the cave, a very nice easy chair and footstool. I can now relax and contemplate future builds or just have a cheeky snooze!
