Type 87 Weathering Begins

Well I've been a bit slack on updates this month due to various factors plus a much needed holiday that actually turned out to be less than restful. So here's the state of the model now with the decals applied and some light chipping added with a sponge plus most of the details painted. I've also added a bin bag and wheel chocks to the rear bin for a splash of colour.

The figures have also been built up and I must say they look rather nice. a slight change of pose and new arms on one of them helped them to look more natural in the turret.

Off to IPMS North Somerset's annual show tomorrow for Stonehenge modellers first display of the year so I will add a little report and show pictures in due course.

Type 87 Painting

Well I've finally managed to get some paint on the type 87 and started by spraying the wheels using tamiya XF 85, tyre black. This was then masked and the wheel hubs sprayed with tamiya XF 72, JGSDF brown & XF 73, JGSDF dark green. Both colours had a small dash of XF 21 added to slightly lighten the tones. The turret and hull where then sprayed followed by a gloss coat.
