After a blast of primer I have now got some colour on the cockpit, gun and wing components firstly spraying vallejo game colour 72/052 plata silver on for all the bare metal areas. This went on very well and has a nice tone. Next the German grey for the cockpit followed by detail painting.
Once all that had cured I used vallejo game wash colours umber and black to add some weathering. As these are acrylic they dry nice and quick. Once happy with the weathering I gave everything a coat of matt varnish. This toned down the very shiny metal areas and gave them a much more realistic worn and weathered look but still leaving a slight sheen.
