Gecko Interior & Airbrush Refurbish

Attention has now turned to the interior with some quick detail painting followed by a small pin wash. Not much effort expended here as it's all but invisible on the finished model but a good bit of practice all the same. Matt varnish later then I can close up the upper & lower hulls.

I've also been refurbishing my trusty Iwata TR2 as lately I've found it's not spraying as it should and it was difficult to get tight lines whilst spraying camo patterns. I put this down to a possible worn needle and nozzle so ordered these plus a new crown & nozzle cap.

As you can guess it's not a cheap exercise however airbrushes are precision tools so parts do wear out so to keep it in tip top condition it's worth the expense. Besides the last time I changed the needle & nozzle was about 5 years ago.

So happily stripping down the airbrush last night I discovered that the PTFE washer & rubber "O" ring also needed replacing. I should have checked this before ordering the other parts I guess!

Meanwhile my Iwata Neo TR1 will be on standby duties while I wait for the new parts to arrive.
